“Growing On Mother Earth” – © Susan B. B. Schabacker

Dig my hands into the earth
The sun above me is shining
And rays of sun fall upon us
As we turn our faces to the sky

From our roots we grow
On Mother Earth
We brave the elements
Wind and rain and snow

God is a gardener
Always tending to his garden
The garden of love

Fertilizing weeding watering and pruning
Is what it always takes

Mother Earth is nurturing
Every spring we reawaken
After a winter of cold hibernation

And these seeds that He sows
Will someday grow old
From seeds to saplings to trees that shelter us

In every season of the soul
We are loved

Mother Earth is our home
Where our roots dig deep
And in the right season
A harvest we will reap

Mother Earth (2x)

It all started with the smallest seeds
And tiny eggs from birth
But we’re still growing
Growing on Mother Earth
