For this 3rd Down Home Music Festival at The Gary Maverick Farm, my first female drummer/percussionist/violinist, Nicole Andres, performed with both The Spencers and Songs by Susan, accompanying Ben on bass and me on acoustic guitar with vocals on her violin. The skies were blue, the horses were happily grazing in the pastures, and the crowd was lively and encouraging. It was an honor to share the stage with The Gary Maverick Band (with Artimus Pyle), Marshall Pyle, and Generations band. Also, TJ Volgare (St. Anthony & The Mystery Train) joined our Songs by Susan 3 piece and we shared his original song dedicated to me as a bday gift, “Rosewater Girl.”
